The Bay Cruise Sails San Francisco Bay
The Red and White Fleet is one of the two primary fleet operators offering tours of San Francisco Bay including visits to Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. All of the tours are powered by bio-diesel fuel - a plus for the environment. There are three tours offered - we'll describe the current prices, pro's, and con's of each boat tour under the detailed cruise route map below.

Golden Gate Bay Cruise
This is the cruise to see it all - and quick - right from Fisherman's Wharf Pier 43 1/2. A one hour cruises departs 8-14 times daily and includes going under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz as shown by the purple line in the map above. The tour includes for purchase: an available full bar, snacks, and
souvenirs. Audio is available via headphones in eight different languages. You'll see the swimming club of Aquatic park, historic ships at Hyde Street Pier, and the San Francisco Maritime National Park. The tour continues past Fort Mason and the Marina District - devastated in the 1989 earthquake. Crissy Field and lush hillsides at the Presidio have
been converted from military use into park and business at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The photo opportunities are limitless. Across the Golden Gate Bridge - you can see wildlife at the Marin Headlands and historic Sausalito. From the return trip - you can see Angel Island State Park,
Coit Tower, and the Bay Bridge.

San Francisco Explorer Cruise
This special tour focuses on natural history, architecture, and Native American culture-- sailing under the Bay Bridge and along the high-rise skyline, AT&T baseball park, Alcatraz, and Treasure Island. This is a summer-time only cruise - from late May to August - once daily at 3:30 pm. As shown in the map above - the Red and White Explorer Cruise departs from Embarcadero Center (not Fisherman's Wharf) and follows the green
route above.

California Sunset Cruise
This relaxing and romantic 2 hour cruise leaves once daily at either 6pm or 7pm depending on the sunset. The route is similar to the Golden Gate Bay Cruise above, but takes a wider route out around Angel Island as shown by the blue line on the map above. This cruise features a complimentary appetizer buffet from Boudin San Francisco bakery.
