Nesbitt - You are spot on. We've updated the article to report the demise of the culture bus in San Francisco - a good idea that died out quickly. The photo is a streetcar, and a fun / historic one at that. Thanks again for reminding us that the culture bus is now just a historical remnant.

(1) that photo is a streetcar, not the culture bus
(2) the culture bus has been discontinued due to lack of patronage

The drive from SFO Airport to Golden Gate Bridge can vary a lot based on traffic. During the commute peaks (morning 6-9, afternoon 4-6:30), I would allow 90 minutes to 2.5 hours. During the non-commute times or weekends, it would run maybe 60-90 minutes.

Nice, informative web pages! We are visiting from Norway by end of October. Arriving SFO in the afternoon, staying at an airport hotel. Next morning we are driving to Napa fro a week of touring wine country. Would like to stop at Golden Gate Bridge for some sightseeing, then have lunch in Sausalito. How much time do we need to drive from SFO to the bridge - and then from the bridge to Sausalito? Can you recommend a nice restaurant there?

Thanks for the information. I'm glad I had already changed my reservation to a motel just off Market. It may not be much safer according to your link, but businesses and transportation are much closer of a walk. Thanks again!

Hi Tysz - Glad to hear you found this post provacative. The truth is that however your joke plays out - the value of a timeshare as you walk out of the resort is less than half of what you paid. There is a very real secondary market for timeshare purchases and a gap of 50% is on the low side to the retail sales price.

Curious - this post seems to have really interested you.... Do you work in the timeshare industry? It's hard for us to find another reason why you would care.

We're hoping the post helps people to get good value on the timeshares they have purchased (most go unused), and avoid paying too much for a timeshare if they do decide to buy.

Thanks - sfTravel Editors
